An Afghan official says at least one person was killed in a suicide car bomb attack near the Kabul airport, but there were no other immediate details.
In the attack's immediate aftermath, security forces and police could be seen amid a heavily damaged vehicle and debris strewn across the road.
Sediq Sediqqi, a spokesman for the Afghan Interior Minister, said on Monday that four others were hurt in the early-morning attack that took place near the airport.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Taliban have increased their attacks recently across the country against the Afghan Security forces.
