I can't believe this POPPED OFF so EASILY! I finally got my carrier bearing or center support bearing replaced on my 2nd gen 24 valve cummins today! Along with replacing/installing the cummins carrier bearing, I also replaced/installed the last u joint on the rear drive shaft. This weekend paid off well for the 24 valve and I was able to get a good bit of work done on it and check it off my list before winter is here. The carrier bearing removal is usually a struggle to get it off of your drive shaft unless you're using a press or carrier bearing puller of some sort to remove and install it. I heated mine with a torch and gave it a few hits with a cold chisel and BFH and it popped off so easily. I was shocked! My carrier bearing wasn't making noise but had decent travel in the rubber bushing around the bearing itself. I have other videos up on the channel on how to change u joints on your truck. I always use a ball joint press to press the u joint out of the yoke on the drive shaft. The ball joint press makes fast and easy work of a u joint replacement. The only time I can't use the ball joint press to install u joints is when doing the u joint on my front axle shafts because the caps on those u joints are too big. I will give you all an update in tomorrow's video on how the 2nd gen cummins is running now and how it feels riding down the road after getting the fluidampr installed, the last u joint, and the carrier bearing replaced too. The fluidampr already made quite a difference in how the truck feels.
