On March 15, 44 BC, Caesar is betrayed and assassinated by Brutus and Cassius. Rome’s seat of power is vacant and coveted. Marc Antony seizes the opportunity and makes an alliance with Caesar’s young nephew, Octavian. Putting aside their rivalry, they form a triumvirate with Lepidus to avenge Caesar.
