In this video, I explore one of the most satisfying details in Age of Mythology: how units change visually as they are upgraded. The Peltast is a perfect example – he starts as a light skirmisher and, after 19 upgrades, transforms into a heavily armored elite warrior. It’s not just about stats going up; you actually see the progression in their gear and appearance, which makes upgrading so much more rewarding.

To make this video even more immersive, I created a new ambiance specifically for the Peltasts. This setting feels more like a proper ranged army environment, as opposed to the royal theme I used for infantry units. These little touches make the game – and this showcase – so much fun to experience!
