Fort Moultrie is located in Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina. It was named in honor of William Moultrie. The fort has been rebuilt three times over the years. It was used for the last time by the military in August of 1947. The property eventually ended up in the hands of the National Park Service so this important piece of history could still continue for future generations to see.
