A curious raccoon and restful (most likely recently-satiated) bobcat have a rare, peaceful moment together. This meeting lasted a few minutes -- much longer than you see here.
I love it when my cameras capture this sort of unusual encounter! I suppose these types of moments in nature are more common than we think. Nevertheless, raccoons are part of a bobcat's diet, so, I found this pretty fascinating.
I had to work really hard to bring up the light in the area where the bobcat was located. The original frames were almost completely black on that side. Only the glow of the bobcat's eyes, and the extremely cautious approach by the raccoon let me know I should investigate this footage more closely to see what was actually unfolding here. So glad that I did!
I must say, the temptation to add thought-bubbles to this particular video was nearly irresistible. 😅
