The aim of this webinar was to present the main outcomes of the project EVOLVE – “Economic Value of Ocean Energy".
One of the main goals of the project is to study potential benefits of integrating wave and tidal stream energies in future energy systems.
The British, Irish, and Portuguese power systems are modelled considering future energy scenarios, with and without ocean energy. EVOLVE’s objective is to assess impacts of future energy mixes on electricity prices, carbon emissions, renewable dispatch and system balancing.
Partners of the project include Aquatera, The University of Edinburgh, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, CorPower Ocean, Orbital Marine Power and WavEC – Offshore Renewables.
This collaborative project has received support under the framework of the OCEANERA-NET COFUND project, with funding provided by the following national/regional funding organisations: Scottish Enterprise, Swedish Energy Agency and Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
