We go through each of the 6 settings in great detail, including the following:
1. Stop: This setting is used when you don't need the pump to circulate water, such as when you're not using the pool or performing maintenance.
2. Drain: The drain setting is used to lower the water level in the pool. When set to "drain," the pump will remove water from the pool, helping you to lower the water level for various purposes, such as cleaning or maintenance.
3. Filter: When the pump is set to "filter," it's actively pulling water from the pool and sending it through the pool's filtration system. This setting is used for regular filtration, removing debris and particles from the water as it circulates through the filter media.
4. Rinse: After backwashing, it's important to set the pump to "rinse." During this setting, clean water is sent through the filter for a brief period, flushing out any remaining debris and helping to settle the filter media back into its normal configuration before returning to the "filter" setting.
5. Recirculate: In the "recirculate" setting, the pump bypasses the pool's filter system and simply recirculates the water back into the pool. This can be useful when you want to mix chemicals or treatments into the pool water without sending it through the filter. Or if you have a solar heater and just want to circulate and mix the warm water.
6. Backwash: Backwashing is the process of cleaning the filter media. When set to "backwash," the pump reverses the water flow through the filter, dislodging and flushing out accumulated dirt and debris from the filter media. The dirty water is then sent out of the waste or backwash line.
After show and tell on the 6 pump settings, we then go through the filter trap cleaning and backwash procedure from start to finish.
