OYO IPO News: What Investors Need to Know? | Insights on Latest Equity Raise | Planify
OYO is always in the news, sometimes for its affordable hotels, sometimes for its IPO, and sometimes for its valuation. Recently, another fresh update has come forward: the company is set to raise $80-90 million from private equity at a 74% cut from its peak valuation of $9 billion, resulting in a current valuation of approximately $2.3 billion. However, this is not the first time this has happened to OYO. Previously, SoftBank had also slashed its valuation to $2.7 billion, to which the company had commented that there was no rationale for this valuation.
OYO was recently bringing its IPO, but it has been withdrawn. The reason for this withdrawal is that out of the debt the company took in 2021, $450 million is still remaining, which it wants to refinance through bond refinancing at an interest rate of around 9-10%. This refinancing will change the company's financial statements, which is why OYO has currently withdrawn the IPO. This is not the first time OYO has withdrawn its IPO.
