Four people died on the spot while four others died while undergoing treatment at the Kijabe and Tigoni hospitals following an early morning accident in Ngarariga, Kiambu County, along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The eight perished after a Kenya Prison lorry and a Nissan matatu collided.
Six people injured in the accident are still undergoing treatment.
