Here is the first part of a two part amateur film of celebrations in Walthamstow for the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. This film won first prize as the best film of Jubilee events in Waltham Forest. Attend an Easter fair at The Elms Sports Ground. A group of adults and children push and pull some wheeled market stalls out on to the Douglas Eyre playing fields at the Elms.The next section shows a street being decorated for the jubilee party. Men on ladders secure bunting across the road from terrace to terrace. Next up is the York Road competition of 5 a side football at the Elms Sports ground. The film concludes with footage of preparations for the Chester Road Silver Jubilee street party. There is no sound in this film, as the soundtrack is not in the archive.
