This Jewish Study Center class discusses the many activities of the Association of Jewish Libraries (AJL), including the Sydney Taylor Awards for the best Jewish books for children and its annual awards for books on fiction, bibliography, research. See how AJL supports authors who haven’t yet published and publicizes books on Jewish holidays and on anti-Semitism. AJL also provides valuable assistance to volunteer librarians as well as to scholars in Jewish Studies. Its annual conferences bring together librarians, authors, book lovers and distinguished guests from around the world. The AJL presenters discuss books on a wide variety of topics of Jewish interest, including Marvel comics, the Cairo Geniza, the Jerusalem library of Russian books.
