United surprisingly destroy a very good Sheffield Wednesday team for a second time in 2 weeks. The absence of Wednesday fans is notable as their small allocation was less than half full. Hughes’s goal that rocketed in from long distance off the crossbar and behind the line was the pick of the goals. United’s lead was now however down to 7 points but their were no concerns that United would throw away the title...yet.
