The approaching Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games is igniting national sports enthusiasm in China with many ski lovers swarming to northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to admire the country's highest ski resort.
The Koktokay International Ski Resort in Altay Prefecture of Xinjiang is located among the snowy mountains of Koktokay. It boasts a long vertical drop and long skiing season.
The resort is currently the only alpine ski resort in China with an altitude of more than 3,000 meters. The maximum drop is over 1,200 meters. And the snow season can last for nearly eight months.
From Oct. 1, the ski resort has welcomed about 13,000 tourists from home and abroad.
"For those high-level ski lovers, this trail is long enough. You can ski from the mountain top to the end until your legs get weak. The drop ensures the snow's quality. It has steep as well as gentle slopes. So I think this place is really suitable for vacation," said Zhu Yaping, a ski enthusiast from northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.
"This is the third time I came to Koktokay. The reason why I came here again is that the quality of the snow here is really good, and the environment is very comfortable. In addition, it has long drops, and the climate here is very pleasant," said Li Jianguang, a ski enthusiast from southwest China's Sichuan Province.
临近的 2022 年北京冬奥会正在点燃中国的全民运动热情，许多滑雪爱好者涌向中国西北部的新疆维吾尔自治区，前往该国海拔最高的滑雪胜地。
新疆阿勒泰州可可托海国际滑雪场位于可托凯雪山之中。它拥有漫长的垂直落差和漫长的滑雪季节。
该度假村是目前中国唯一海拔3000米以上的高山滑雪场。最大落差超过1200米。而且雪季可以持续近八个月。
10月1日起，滑雪场已接待海内外游客约1.3万人次。
“对于那些高水平的滑雪爱好者来说，这条路已经足够长了。你可以从山顶滑到最后，直到你的腿发软。落差保证了雪质。它有陡坡和平缓的坡度。所以我认为这个地方真的很适合度假。”来自中国东北黑龙江省的滑雪爱好者朱亚平说。
“这是我第三次来可可托海了，再次来这里的原因是这里的雪质真的很好，环境也很舒服。另外，落差很长，这里的气候也很好非常愉快，”来自中国西南四川省的滑雪爱好者李建光说。
