Another fantastic jacket from the team at Alpinestars, the GP Plus R Perforated. For those riders in warmer climates, this is a great addition to your riding gear closet. Built from 1.3mm top-grain cowhide, you've got a solid chassis for abrasion protection. Now, they make this exact same jacket, but not perforated, but this has the entire chest panel and back panel fully perforated for increased airflow. You do lose the DFC vents, but come on, it's already perforated. BioArmor handles the impact absorption factor with pieces in the shoulders, the elbows/forearms, and add to that PE foam inserts on the chest area and foam panels placed strategically around the high impact areas to add even more coverage. Think of an armored truck with the windows rolled down. This is a sport-cut jacket as seen in the pre-curved arms and torso, but you still need to be able to move around on the machine. You'll find stretch panels all over this jacket, with them being cowhide in the potential abrasion areas, and then a very trick material in those areas not so prone to contact, like under and the inside of the arms. It still has abrasion resistant qualities, but it's also 4-way stretch. Safety isn't just an adding armor equation, so it's got some reflective panels to increase visibility in low-light situations. All YKK zippers add function, but since you've got to look as good as you feel, all the logos are stitched in, not some screened on process. Very classy.
