Recently, we received a delivery we look forward to every summer: hundreds (and HUNDREDS) of juvenile Lake Sturgeon! For more than 20 years, we have worked alongside numerous partners to bring this living fossil and modern day river giant back to the Tennessee River.

To date, human-led propagation has seen more than 300,000 sturgeon returned to the river, which they had all but disappeared from by the 1970s. When they join their fellows in the river later this summer, each of these baby fish could still be swimming through their ancestral waters 150 years from now!
