Liberal Senator Alex Antic says the Australian government is on a “strange path" of singling out people for reasons of social cohesion.
Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said he barred the ex-Israeli minister from coming to Australia due to concerns her views could “undermine social cohesion”.
“You can see how this power can be used in terms of the minister’s own subjective opinion in many respects as to what is going to harm society,” Mr Antic told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“Freedom of speech is finite ... but you start entering into dangerous territory when you start denying people visas on these grounds I reckon.”
