Mike McGuire’s passion for the Angus breed and more importantly its breeders has been steadfast over his lifetime. The Waverly, Alabama Angus breeder
was part of the group of juniors who established the National Junior Angus
Association and Junior Board in 1980. Decades later, McGuire continues to be
a leader in the breed. He has been pivotal in the Alabama Angus Association’s
recognition as one of the most active state associations in the country.
He
has organized over 50 association sales, led the organization of annual field
days and helped establish the Alabama Angus Family of The Year and Alabama
Progressive Breeder of the Year awards. Beyond state lines, he is a nationally
recognized judge and helps organize regional shows. McGuire gives his time
generously to help foster new Angus breeders, provide growth opportunities
for members and support the success of Alabama Angus breeders.
