Join flower farmer and florist Georgie Newbery of Common Farm Flowers as she begins the annual dahlia clearance after the first knock out frost.
Why does she lift them? Because propagating from them in spring will give her the biggest, boldest flowers and get rid of any disease from her plants.
The first frost has knocked the dahlias back enough to lift them. She's in a hurry to get the beds sorted and tidied so that when her tulip bulbs arrive next week she can focus on getting them planted as quickly as possible.
Georgie's flower farmer's year is always busy and she finds that if she does each job as one big activity, finishing one thing before starting the next, she gets everything done in time and in order.
We have an online dahlia workshop that people around the world are welcome to join in with: [ Ссылка ]
And for those of you who can get to Somerset, we do a glorious dahlia day at the farm in September each year when the dahlia patch looks stunning and you can see for yourself how we successfully crop our dahlias here: [ Ссылка ]
You can see our full workshop calendar here [ Ссылка ]
If you're booking a place on our workshops or demos the website will ask you to choose a delivery date - any date will do! And if you can't join our sessions live then you are still very welcome to book as we send the recording and notes of the workshop out to everyone afterwards, so you can download the session and refer back to it as and when you need to.
