Secular forces uniting is a healthy development, and Congress is doing the same by joining hands with JD(S), which is also a secular party, said veteran Congress leader KH Muniyappa. Congress has won 78 seats, and JD(S) has won 38 seats in the Assembly elections held on May 12. Though BJP has got 104 seats, it is short of 9 seats for a simple majority.
