(9 Dec 2014) British Prime Minister David Cameron arrived in Ankara on Tuesday and held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu.
Cameron's visit comes as Turkey is under pressure to get more engaged in the US-led international coalition fighting the Islamic State extremist group, and to prevent foreign jihadis from crossing its borders to join their ranks.
The British PM is also due to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Islamic State extremists control parts of Syria and neighbouring Iraq, which both border NATO-member Turkey.
Ankara has been a hard sell, but Erdogan has agreed to host a training camp and help equip some moderate Sunni fighters to combat the Islamic State group in Syria.
