Mary Boleyn was born in Norfolk between 1499 and 1504, probably as the eldest of the children of Thomas Boleyn and Elizabeth Howard. At the age of 15, she was sent to France as a lady-in-waiting to Princess Mary Tudor. During her time at the French court, Mary became the mistress of King Francis I, which led to her return to England in 1519. In 1520, she married William Carey, with whom she had two children, Catherine and Henry. During her marriage, she had an affair with Henry VIII. In 1534, Mary secretly married the commoner William Stafford, which resulted in her banishment from court by her sister, Queen Anne Boleyn.....
