Andre Meixner, Head of User Centered Test (Accessibility & Usability) at T-Systems Multimedia Solutions GmbH explains why accessible software solutions are important in work places.
Beyond workplaces, accessibility is important to allow everyone to actively participate in the digital information society, independent of when, where, why and how they want to do this. Web technologies have become one of our daily essentials: we use it to explore and create knowledge, to consume media and entertainment, for shopping and so forth. Web Accessibility is the subarea of digital accessibility and focuses on making the Web accessible to everyone. International organizations such as the Web Accessible Initiative (WAI) continuously enhance existing guidelines, recommendations, or standards that help developers, designers and tester to contribute to an accessible digital information society.
