Hayaa (modesty and shyness) is a vital trait in Islam, closely linked to faith (iman).

'Imran bin Husain (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Shyness does not bring anything except good."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

In a narration of Muslim: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "All of shyness is good."

Narrated Ibn 'Umar:
that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by a man and he was chastising his brother about modesty, so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Al-Haya' is part of faith."
