This video re-creates the same simulated project from scratch as our "First Project Crash Course" video (link provided below) but instead uses Parker Automation Manager's powerful Simulation Mode. Simulation Mode allows control engineers to develop and test their PLC, Motion Control, and HMI/Visualization logic without any up-front hardware or software costs. So what are you waiting for?
Parker Automation Controller (PAC)
The PAC was developed from the ground up to be a machine controller that combines three devices into one: the PLC, Motion & Robotics Controller, and HMI. In addition to a significant reduction of components in the cabinet, the PAC also integrated the run time of these devices meaning that programming, system debugging, and upgrading can all be done with one program and one device. This allows engineering development and time to market to be significantly reduced for machine builders. Even after commissioning, time savings are extended to post-sales support or maintenance as only one device needs to be queried or updated.
Parker Automation Manager (PAM)
A powerful, integrated controller needs an equally unified development environment; Automation Manager allows developers to program seamlessly as IO and logic handling, motion programming, and back-end visualization logic are all done using familiar languages such as Ladder, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text, and more. Motion profiles can either be created programmatically using PLCopen function blocks or drawn using Automation Manager's graphical editors, import drawings from CAD, or generated using shop floor friendly G-code (DIN 66025). HMI & Visualizations are equally intuitive to create as screens are generated through embedded WebVisu in Automation Manager. Since WebVisu runtime is the same as that handling IEC 61131-3 PLC Logic, tag sharing isn't automatic, it's non-existent! Users can build their own interfaces by clicking and dragging from an extensive library of pre-made tools and styles.
