ISLAND TOUR at the END OF THE WORLD - USHUAIA & THE BEAGLE CHANNEL ARGENTINA

In this video we begin exploring Ushuaia - aka the end of the world! Ushuaia is the Southern most city in the world and is the gateway to Antarctica. So although our budget won’t quite stretch to an Antarctic cruise, we decided to get out onto the Beagle channel on a half day boat tour to see this incredibly remote part of the world.

We got to explore three different islands and met the local animal inhabitants who were pretty fun to see, especially the Sea lions and seals that were basking in the unusually warm sunshine. We also really enjoyed seeing the albatros taking off slowly from the water, they really do look like they struggle to get airborne just like the Albatros from Rescuers Down Under! :)

This tour takes in the famous little lighthouse island, as well as an island full of unique indigenous plants that we were able to explore on foot, it was a great little half day tour that included nature, history and stunning views across the Beagle channel and the Patagonian mountains surrounding this area.

After the boat tour we head off to take a look around the actual city of Ushuaia and get a bit of lunch while we’re there, we actually caught a bit too much sun from the boat, who’d have thought we’d ever get sunburn this close to Antarctica, totally caught us out!
