A rough final off shore from Marseille to Hyeres, during the 2008 Tour de France à la Voile. Filmed onboard the Dutch Delft Challenge Mumm 30. We experienced a Mistral of over 30 kts, and set a seasonal top speed of 20.3 kts. Only 5 of the 28 boats managed to finish this leg, ironically due to a lack of wind further on in the race.
All of the 7 crewmembers, except the pit and helmsman (me :) ), are positioned at the stern to keep the boat on its feet. Filmed during a broach!
