There is a wide range of different views under the libertarian umbrella that include supporting constitutional, limited-government all the way to anarcho-capitalism and wishing we had no government at all. Personally, I believe that limited government is the most realistic option to maximize freedom, security, and liberty. I do think there is a place for government but to the extent that it has to exist, it should be given the least amount of power and influence as possible. To that end, the president should have such little power that it doesn't really matter what party they affiliate themselves with.
