On election day, the mission was reinforced by observers from EU diplomatic missions accredited to Mozambique. The EOM observed voting, counting and the tabulation of results. A preliminary statement was delivered prior to the completion of the election process. The final assessment of the elections will include an evaluation of the conduct of the remaining stages of the election process, in particular, the tabulation of results, and the handling of possible post-election day complaints and appeals.
