What happens when you put 32GB RAM in an underpowered AMD Athlon Silver HP laptop then try to play some games on it?
Well in tonight’s episode we aim to find out.
We start with the HP 15-gw0502sa , a rather modest budget laptop from 2020.
With its AMD Athlon Silver 3050U and RX Vega 2 onboard graphics, it has potential.
However it is seriously held back by a very slow 5400RPM hard disk, bloatware and of course a rather small 4GB of RAM. We aim to fix its two faults by replacing the HDD with an SSD and the 4GB RAM with, well as the title says - 32GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM.
We take you along the journey, show the experience using of the laptop before upgraded and how slow it is with games and daily tasks such as boot time and opening apps. We then do the upgrades and compare how its performance has improved.
