In the present video, I explained that the Raya /canola crops grown in the irrigated areas while October must be applied 1st irrigation after 25 to 35 days. However, a delay of up to 50-60 days or so, and excessively grown plants may result in lodging. Therefore, it is advised that 1 st irrigation should be followed after thinning well in time. Raya/canola crop is commonly planted through the broadcast method mostly in moist soil and planking is followed. This method is successful during the proper temperature range of October and November in case of medium to heavy loam soils. In this video, we have further argued that in the case of clayey and salt-affected soils broadcasting Raya/canola seed in standing water (Gap Chhat) is a better option. The Choka method is better in the case of small-scale planting at the domestic level. Planter sowing along both edges of 2.5 feet beds is suggested in heavy loam soils and a small seed drill method for light soils.
