Boris Johnson's refusal to meet Nicola Sturgeon during his visit to Scotland today is "odd" and "strange", the First Minister has said. 

The Prime Minister yesterday rejected her offer of meeting at Bute House, the official residence, during this week's trip.

Downing Street is understood to have been unhappy at images of Mr Johnson’s last meeting with Ms Sturgeon in the summer of 2019, as it appeared she was receiving a visiting dignitary rather than the leader of the UK. It is also thought the offer was not made until after Mr Johnson's agenda was locked in.
