Doodhpathri is a hill station located in Kashmir. It is a day trip from Srinagar and takes around 2 hours drive. I had visited Doodhpathri in April after lockdown. In this video, I'm sharing my complete experience of my trip to this beautiful destination!

Doodhpathri or Doodhpatri means Valley of Milk in Kashmiri. The river Shaliganga flows through the valley which looks like milk from afar and thus it derived the name Doodhpathri.

You can take your vehicle all the way up till the entry to the riverside so you do not require to hire any pony or even trek much. However please note that Doodhpathri is shut in winters. I was lucky that I visited right after winter so it was open and also got to enjoy the snow. Doodhpathri is shut for 6 months during wintertime and is inaccessible.

Doodhpathri is popular among the locals and lesser known to tourists. If you're looking for an unconventional place to visit in Kashmir then Doodhpathri is one of the places to visit in Kashmir. Since it's only a day trip from Srinagar it is a must do!

On our way to Doodhpathri, we stopped to have noon chai or noon tea, popularly known as the Kashmiri pink tea. we also tried the famous Kashmiri Wazwan at the end of the trip. The restaurant where we tried this was at Mughal Darbar restaurant in Srinagar.
