PUBG Corp shuts down game servers in India 

On October 30, Tencent Games announced the complete shut down of services

PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite’s Indian servers were operated by China-based Tencent Games

PUBG was banned on Playstore and AppStore two months ago

Despite the ban, existing users could continue to access the game

PUBG is manufactured by PUBG Corporation, a South Korean company

Following the ban, the publishing rights in India were taken back from Tencent

PUBG had sought to circumvent the ban in collaboration with Indian companies

The ban was prompted by allegations including leakage user data

Earlier, Indian govt had banned popular apps like TikTok and WeChat
