Saturday was once the first day of the week. It was Constantine the Great who changed the calendar and made Sunday the first day of the week and a day of worship for the Christians.

Under persecution threats, Hillel II - leader of the Jewish people, changed the Sabbath for the Jews and introduced ‘rules of postponement’. This is why even today the Jewish people keep the Feasts according to the Biblical lung-solar calendar (albeit according to these ‘rules’) and their Sabbath according to the Gregorian calendar.
