This case study of Ashiq Hussain Ganai was filmed by Amnesty International India in July 2014 in Dangiwacha village, Baramulla (jJammu and Kashmir). This film is part of the report "Denied: Failures in accountability for human rights violations by security force personnel in Jammu and Kashmir".
Ganai was 24-years-old when he was allegedly tortured and killed by the army in 1993. His decomposed & mutilated body was found by the Jammu & Kashmir Police on the banks of the Jhelum River on 12 April 1993, 40 days after the army picked him up from his home. Sanction sought in the case was declined by the Indian Ministry of Defence.
