In this video we cover how you can tell how long a specific SSD drive will last. For example, if you recently purchased an SSD or are thinking about purchasing an SSD how do you know how long it will last. We have a simple way of measuring this metric.

The most important metric when trying to understand a SSD drive's endurance is something called write endurance. You will normally see a number like this 400 TBW listed next to specific hard drive models. This number will tell you how much data the SSD can write to the drive before it starts slowing down because of the silicone wearing out.

There are hundreds of SSD drives from Samsung, Kingston, Intel, and more. You can also buy sata SSDs or faster types like NVME SSDs. More power users might need data center grade SSDs. The question everybody has is how long will the drive list (how much data can be written) to the drive before you have issues.

In this video we will show you a simple way to measure the write endurance of all SSDs so you can compare which SSDs are more reliable when you write a ton of data to them.
