In our vlog this week, a delayed one from last week due to technical issues, we end up in Scunthorpe. This town was the focal point of one of OMSIs first few big UK maps, and is one of the only ones to hold that success 6 years on. With that in mind, I wanted to get over there to catch a type that is due to be replaced soon, the Volvo B7TLs with the East Lancs Vyking bodywork. Whilst I did originally plan to just focus this as a comparison video, it felt better to just do a Fleet Analysis on the entire town, so we did. Whilst I don't cover Hornsby's brilliantly in this one, I will come back to focus more on some of their more interesting stuff in future. On this day, only their Enviro 200s were out.
The area has one of Stagecoach's more unique fleets, with ADL Darts and even a handful of B7RLEs still accompanying those Vyking vehicles. Scunthorpe do get cascades for pretty much their entire fleet, but Hornsby's appear to be better at presenting these, with the two examples we rode on being much cleaner and pleasant inside, and all the vehicles we saw from the outside were much smarter too.
