I messed up the timing so go through what you should do if you do the same.

Locking the cams and camshaft for removing the timing belt

Resetting the timing if you mess it up when changing the dephaser pulley or cam belt.

The Renault Megane doesn't have timing marks so you need to lock the cams before removing the timing belt.
