"Digimon World" Next Order Walkthrough / Playthrough Gameplay guide

"Digimon World" gameplay returns with "Digimon World: Next Order" where Digimon must once again be brought together to build up a powerful city in order to raise a warrior strong enough to defeat evil Digimon in the Digital World! Let's Play Digimon World!

Playstation 1's Digimon World is an all time favourite game of mine, and my favourite monster raising game of all time. It was near perfect. Now I get to try a new Digimon title and see how the modern era of Digimon holds up against the all time classic PS1 original. Digimon World: Next Order has a lot to live up to.

With new Digimon, fusions, places to visit, human characters, voice acting and having two partner Digimon instead of one, it's a pretty refreshing title in the Digimon series. The combat is also refreshed with Digimon not just passing on their moves to a new generation once they fade away, but a piece of their stats, too. Meaning; baby Digimon will be born with power once exclusive to Champion, only to break new limits and obtain new heights in their abilities later.

The Digimon of Digimon World: Next Order all have their own personalities and reasons for being who they are, but each one of these lovely NPCs need a place to live, and what better place than your own little village? But some of these new and cool Digimon a pretty scary with the power they hold, so a lot of time will be spent at the gym building up the power to due combat with these demi Gods!

While a blind playthrough, i'm no Digimon Rookie. This Digimon World: Next Order playthrough will be a 100% city completion run; nobody will be left behind. Enjoy!

Digimon World: Next Order is a role-playing game set in an open world environment and played from a third-person perspective where players take control of a human character who is accompanied by two partner Digimon. The player chooses from ten possible starting companions at the beginning of the game, who grow and evolve throughout the course of the story by taking part in battles and interacting with their owner. Players can increase the bond between their Digimon and themselves by praising, scolding, feeding, or offering items. Together, they travel through various environments completing objectives and advancing the story by interacting with non-player characters and battling enemy Digimon they encounter in the field.

Battles themselves take place in real-time when an enemy creature is touched, which causes a circular-shaped battle area to appear which each partner is free to move within. The companion Digimon act automatically through an assigned AI strategy while the player can halt combat to issue commands or use restorative items. Players can switch between either partner in battle to issue specific commands or instigate a special evolution where both Digimon temporarily merge. After battle, their Digimon's stats are increased, making them stronger. A total of 217 obtainable Digimon creatures are available in the Japanese version of the game. With a further 15 added to the western version of the game, taking the total to 232.
