So we’re at the start of a New Happy whether you run a photography business or you shoot landscape images for fun, you’re probably trying to work out where you want to take your photography this year. One way to do that is setting goals for your photography. In this video, I’m going to talk about 5 tips that will help you create effective goals for your landscape photography.
WHY SET GOALS
As a teacher, I’ve used goal setting with my students as an effective way of identifying areas where they want to improve. Setting goals for your photography is an effective way of improving your photography!
Goals can help keep you focused on an area you want to improve and you monitor your progress along the way. Goals can provide the encouragement you need to step outside your comfort zone and try something new. It can be exciting to have goals you’re working towards. Goals set up milestones that can help keep you motivated and when you reach a goal that you’ve set for yourself, it’s a fantastic feeling of achievement. Importantly Goals identify how you're going to improve whatever you're doing (in this case photography) to the next level.
CHOOSE A GOAL
The goals you choose could come from a range of different areas related to your photography and aspects you want to improve.
HOW TO SET GOALS?
Setting goals is a personal thing, and they reflect where you are on your photography journey. I want to share with you 5 tips to help you select effective goals:
1. If you are just doing this for the first time pick something simple
2. Set a few but not too many
3. Make your goals achievable
4. Make your goals measurable
5. Choose something that’s within your control
