Turkish Şehrazat dessert 🍮 Two layered individually served cup dessert is famous and loved in Turkiye especially in patisseries. It has a cake base made with bread crumbs and coconut flakes and soaked in syrup. Then topped with silky pudding cream with white chocolate and heavy cream. Whoever eats loves with its distinctive taste and hearty but still light two layers.
You can bake in individual remaking, heat proof glass bowls or cups. But it is also possible to bake the base in a rectangular dish and either slice and portion.
Ingredients
For the base cake:
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar (100gr)
Less then 1 cup thin bread crumbs (110gr)
1/2 cup coconut flakes (50gr.)
1 tsp baking powder
1/3 (100ml) cup vegetable oil
For the syrup:
1+1/2 cups (300gr) sugar
400ml water
For the topping:
1 liter milk
3/4 sugar
70gr. Corn starch
100ml heavy cream
after it is cooked add 2 tbsp butter + 50-70gr. White chocolate
vanilla powder or essence
ground pistachio and coconut flakes to garnish
