The countdown to Kenya’s next general election is formally on with the IEBC projecting that all activities pertaining to next year’s polls will cost the country a minimum of 40.9 billion Kenya shillings. Out of that amount 588 million Ksh will be allocated to covid-19 mitigation measures with the remaining 40.329 billion set for handling various costs under the election operation plan. And as Waihiga Mwaura, IEBC plans now take centre stage as the country begins the countdown to next year’s election.
