Max Holloway and Ilia Topuria will headline UFC 308 in a featherweight title fight on October 26, Dana White announced on Saturday.Holloway is coming off a fifth-round knockout of Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 in April, which earned him the symbolic BMF belt. After his victory, he challenged both Topuria and Makhachev, and the former was on hand to hear it live as he had a spot on fighter row for the show.

Former featherweight champion Max Holloway will get an opportunity to wrest back the title from Ilia 'El Matador' Topuria when the two meet at UFC 308 in October.

Topuria won the featherweight belt in January, and his first defence comes against ex-champion Holloway. The main event of UFC 308, which takes place on 26 October in Abu Dhabi, marks Topuria’s first title defence. With his win over Volkanovski, the unbeaten 27-year-old became the first fighter of Georgian or Spanish descent to win a UFC title.
