I would like to introduce my self
My name is KarlinaPutriHariyanto
I am from SMA NEGERI 4 BOJONEGORO
And yeah.. this is my story
Oh, I’m so sorry. Are you afraid? No, don’t be afraid. I just imagine about a story. This story reminds of me to my grandma. When I was child, my grandma likes to tell me about many stories.
Do you know, Bojonegoro is a small town in the East Java. But, it is very rich because of it’s legends. Well, I would like to tell you about one of the stories from Bojonegoro. And the little of the story is Gaceng, Nggulun, PathakButo in Jampet.
It was told there was a very cruel giant. His name was Ringgani. He got injured because Arjuna had embed his arrow to the giant’s chest in the battle. The injured giant escape from the battle. In the escape, the blood of the injured giant spurted on the mountain stone. Now the mountain stone in name “Prawala” mountain by the people in the village.The peak of Prawala mountain coloures red. Do you know why? Because the people in the village believe that it was the former of burts of the giant’s blood.
But, the story is not ended. The injured giant escaped to the north. In his escape, the giant fell down with the eyes opened and closed. Byar...pet…byar... pet…mak... pet… Then the giant died with the eyes closed forever. From the words, the place where the giant died was called the Village of Jampet.
In the head, neck, and the genital of the giant gave off the water sources. The sources changed to be the small lake or “Sendang”. They are very abundant. Now, the people in the village call them as SendangGaceng, SendangNggulun, and SendangPathakButo.
To keep the safety, prosperity, and the living of the village, so every year the people in the village holds and annual ritual. The ritual is called “Manganan”. This ritual is the holy ritual and the purpose of the ritual is to be gratefull to the God Almighty and Nature. The holy activities containesthe hopes and prayers in order to the people, and the village be peaceful, prosperous, and GEMAH RIPAH LOH JINAWI.
It’s the end of the story, of course there is a moral value that we can learn from the story. That is, if we always say thank you to the God, so the God will bless us.
