Over-strengthening the quad muscles often happens after meniscus surgery. This possibly leads to chronic meniscus pain and gives patients the perception of a failed meniscus surgery.
Once the quad muscles can activate well, then the focus needs to shift over to strengthening glutes, abdominals and even foot muscles.
Too much quad strength often leads to over-compression of the meniscus.
