According to media reports, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena said on Wednesday that Chhath Puja would be the first-ever Dry Day in the nation's capital on October 30. Additionally, he agreed that Chhath Puja should be performed at specific Yamuna ghats. This year, the Delhi government is constructing 1,100 ghats for Chhath Puja. The national capital's opposition had called for Chhath to be proclaimed a dry day. This comes following calls from political parties, notably the leader of the BJP in Delhi and the Delhi chapter of the Congress, for the LG to proclaim Chhat Puja a dry day and a public holiday.
