Conversations in Teams happen in channels. Chats happen in "chat". There are two completely different features in Teams. I'll cover five tips, actually six tips, for having conversations in Microsoft Teams.
TimeStamps / Bookmarks
00:00 Conversations are not private
00:42 Use @mentions
02:17 Reply in a thread
03:06 Add Subject in a conversation
03:58 Meet Now
04:42 Files shared in the file tab
Tip # 1 - Conversations are not private. Everyone in the Team can see your conversation. Chats are private.
Tip # 2 - Use @mentions in conversations. If you need to get certain members' attention use @mentions. Example: "@ Susan Robertson will get Susan's attention and she will get a notification in her activity.
Tip #3 - Reply to keep a thread to keep the thread going. Don't start a new conversation.
Tip #4 - Add a Subject to your conversations by clicking Format.
Tip #5 - Meet now is a great way to meet with members of your team.
Tip #6 - Files shared in a conversation appear in Files tab at the top
