New materials came into the shop the other day. We bought a pair of ebays finest torque converters for $62 each! These are a comet tav 30 clone, they even say so in the casting. They come with 3/4" bore for use with most small engines between 4 to 8 hp and an asymmetrical belt. This set also comes with a centrifugal clutch at no extra charge. The clutch is also 3/4" bore but has a 12 tooth #35 chain sprocket. The torque converter comes with a 12 tooth #35 sprocket in addition to the 10 tooth #40 sprocket. We will be running #40 chain on a stock Honda clone motor for now... These seem they would be a great part for anyone curious about trying a torque converter. We might have to try it on the doodlebug with the built 212 hemi predator to see how it handles a little higher power as well.
