Dear 9th Grade Language Arts Students and Parents,
We have received updated information on the grading scales for the rest of the year, and we want to keep you informed.
Major Changes:
1. Classwork is changed from 35% to 40%- This means that all classwork (AKA Digital Learning work) will be 5% more.
2. There will not be a District Assessment at the end of the year. It has been cancelled.
3. The interim will count as 5% county wide, but since Brookwood was going to take the interim on March 16th, it will be excused for all Brookwood Language Arts students.
4. The EOC is canceled. The EOC percentages are being balanced out between the Performance Final Exam (the written essay) and the Local Final Exam that will be given at the end of the year.
Hopefully this chart will help you understand the changes that have been made due to the fact that we will be Digital Learning for the remainder of the school year. When we adjust these grades, your student’s grade may change slightly, but in the long run, if they are completing their DL work, it will allow for each student’s effort to equal his/her success for the rest of this semester.
The major thing we want to convey to you all through this information is that completing Digital Learning work is vital for your child’s success for passing this semester. We understand that times are very difficult, and we want to help your student succeed, so please reach out to your Language Arts teacher if you have any specific questions. We are here to help!
